Raw photopgraphy is photographs that are fundamentally un-altered.

On the Enhanced photography page you will find some manipulated photographs.

My Raw photographs are not all totally untouched, many of the earlier pictures have had colour balanced digitally enhanced, due to techology limitations and the budget cameras used - however beyond minor changes the pictures are as taken originally.

My first experience of pictures was via a old disc (wheel) film camera, this was approximately 1985 and some of the photographs still exist, however are grainy compared to todays pictures.

The next camera was a 35mm free-focus manual camera and this was used until approximately 1999 when it ceased to function.

This was followed by another 35mm automatic camera with a zoom - which was a novelty and this is still in use today.

In 2000 the first digital camera was purchases with a very small memory capacity - none of the pictures from this were worth keeping, however in 2002 the camera was upgraded to one still in use today - with a 4Megapixel storage - some pictures can be seen below.

In 2004 a compact camera with similar quality was purchased and is also in use today - pictures are also available below.

In 2006 a Canon EOS 350D was purchased, with this camera the digital pictures finally exceed the quality of the film photographs, as a result a new lease of life into my photography has occured.  The quality of the pictures is such that several have been used commercially for websites & printed material.

Each camera has it's uses, with the Canon being the one used for most shots, however the smaller cameras are useful in some circumstances, in times when the larger Canon is an impediment the Novatech camera is often used, for pictures that require quick taking and a camera that fits in the palm of the hand the goodmans is useful.

The SLR camera is an excellent taker of photographs and is used for panaromas where photographs are stitched together - examples of these can be seen below.
